My Path Into Hair
I’m Bec Whitehead, the founder and stylist behind BEC Studio Co, a boutique hair studio in Houston, Texas specializing in keratin fusion extensions. With over a decade of experience in the hair industry and more than five years specializing in K-tip hair extensions, my work is grounded in longevity and thoughtful technique.
Excess is never the focus. The goal is hair that looks believable, moves naturally, and feels right long after the appointment is over.
I didn’t grow up immersed in beauty or fashion. I found the hair industry through proximity and curiosity, spending time in cosmetology classrooms as a hair model before signing up as a student. What stood out to me early on was not the surface-level transformation, but the confidence shift that happened when someone felt comfortable in their hair again.

After graduating high school in 2011, I enrolled at The Aveda Institute and began building my foundation. From the start, I was drawn to work that required technical precision. Over time, extensions and lived-in color became the focus of my practice, not because they are trendy, but because they allow for impactful, lasting results when done correctly.

BEC Studio Co operates as an appointment-only studio in Houston, Texas. Even as the studio continues to grow, every appointment remains thoughtfully led and supported to ensure a seamless experience from start to finish.

Services are planned with purpose, taking into account hair integrity, lifestyle, maintenance preferences, and realistic long-term outcomes. Education is part of the process, ensuring that clients understand not only what is being done, but why it is being done that way.

Having experienced hair loss personally, I understand how deeply hair can impact confidence and identity. That perspective shapes the way I work, emphasizing discretion, empathy, and respect for individual comfort levels.
